The HMP Research & Design Framework

Our Framework

We provide expertise using a deliberate process that integrates behavioral theory, design thinking, user-centered design, and rigorous evaluation.

HMP combines established behavioral science, human-centered design, real-world implementation experience, and modern technology infrastructure to help researchers develop effective, engaging, and scalable digital health interventions.

Evidence-Based Foundations

HMP is built upon decades of digital health research, behavioral theory, and implementation science. Every project benefits from lessons learned across prior studies and interventions.

Human-Centered Design

Researchers and participants are partners in the development process. We use formative research, community engagement, usability testing, and iterative refinement to ensure interventions are relevant, engaging, and appropriate for their intended audiences.

Flexible Technology Infrastructure

Rather than rebuilding technology for every study, HMP provides a configurable platform that supports a wide range of health topics, populations, study designs, and geographic settings. Researchers can select and customize features to meet their project goals.

Continuous Learning & Improvement

Through analytics, participant feedback, and ongoing evaluation, HMP continually evolves. Enhancements developed through one project strengthen the platform for future partners, creating a growing ecosystem of shared innovation.

Our Development Approach

HMP utilizes established frameworks such as IDEAS (Integrate, Design, Assess, and Share) alongside best practices in implementation science, behavioral intervention design, and user-centered research.

Why It Matters

Developing digital health interventions can be expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to sustain. HMP’s framework helps research teams build upon an established foundation, reducing development burden while maintaining the flexibility required for innovative science.

The result is faster study startup, lower technology costs, and more time spent generating evidence and improving health outcomes.
